What Has Gone Before

The pendulum clock was invented in 1656 by a Dutch Scientist named Christian Hoygen. George Graham, in 1721, improved the clock to one-second accuracy.  Thus, by the end of the 1700’s, the pendulum clock became the main clock to keep time.

In 1889, Siegmund Riefler improved the pendulum clock by nearly freeing the pendulum. The clock, that Riefler developed, became the standard for astronomical observations.

Finally, in 1921, W.H. Short developed the pendulum clock with two pendulums – the slave and the master. The slave pendulum gently moves the master, which keeps the time.  After 1921, the Short Pendulum Clock became the main clock.

The Introduction of Quartz Clocks

By the 1940’s, quartz crystal clocks replaced the pendulum clock.  The quartz crystal clocks were more accurate. Before long, the wrist watch was introduced and sold to the public.

Pendulum Clocks are still used in many fine homes. Some Grandfather Clocks are antiques, and they may be worth thousands of dollars. The pendulum clocks are here to stay. 

Developing an Energy Alternative

One study tried to use the power pendulum to develop electricity. It is possible to develop electricity from the pendulum. Small units, used in clocks, can develop a small amount of electricity - enough to power a light.

To power anything more than a light, you need multiple pendulums and/or larger units.  Pendulums, by themselves, do not produce a lot of power.

Power Pendulums are green energy. The energy is clean with no fossil fuel residue.  Gas and electricity are not required to run power pendulums and pendulum clocks.
